lovestrong is the one word i use to describe this record + these songs + my heart. it is what i strive to be. it is what i wish for you.
in a magical instant boom, me + my little love songs existed. i got swept up into a brand new world. everything was unbelievable. everything was scary. everything was more amazing + exciting then i ever dreamed. everything started to make sense.
since that first night, and every night since, you’ve emailed me your stories of strength. that night you started feeling better. that night you opened your heart to my experience + hope + songs. i never knew why i went through such ups + downs with love, and then you told me. you helped me understand. and now i have an album for you.
when it came time to pick the songs… i reached into my arsenal + picked my favorites. the ones that i need you to hear. the ones i need to give away. the ones i need to get through. i sat back + listened to every note. every intention. every story. every battle wound. every melody. + every word. i found two common themes. love + strength.
every broken piece of me fits together perfectly on this album + makes my heart whole again.
because of these songs. because of your emails + letters + comments + stories every time i sing these songs a stitch gets stitched… a beat comes back… and a break gets its worth. i hope + wish the same for every heart who hears lovestrong.

Love your music! Are you playing anywhere else in NYC besides Beacon while you're in town? Would love to hear you sing at a more intimate venue like Rockwood Music Hall (or any smaller venue downtown).

I first heard Jar of Hearts at a time when I needed that particular message so desperately that it was a little bit eerie... it made me cry, and helped me to remember why I need to be strong, too. I didn't even know who you were. Since then I have been following your story. I appreciate your beauty and sincerity... you have turned your pain into amazing music that has touched many.
