CP: I'm so happy you had your dog with you until the end. Our family has lost so many pets in our 77 years of life. Each one lost breaks our hearts. My first loss was right in front of me at age 5 when my cat Oscar was killed by a stray dog in our back yard. My dog Blackie was put to sleep by my dad when I was away in college. My last cat Chloe was 19 when I had to put her to sleep and I said we would not have another pet at our age. But, with in 6 months our Niece in Maine gave us 2 kittens rescued from the wild at their summer camp. we love these cats and they love us. SOOO our lives on with pets that will no doubt out live us but our kids or their kids will take them. It hurts to loose them because they are family but we need them.
