ahh! today!! lovestrong day is over. + it was epic.
its kind of amazing how emotional making an album is…. and kind of even more amazingly emotional releasing it into the world. everyone is listening + judging + praising or ripping apart my work… words… melodies… sounds...songs… + stories. some people get it and some dont. it so scary… but its so rewarding too. there is this little 15 year old girl inside of me who is jumping for joy. she's screaming "we did it christina!!!! we cried those tears for a reason! he broke our heart for a reason! we wrote these songs for today… for may 10th 2011!!! we did it. its all okay now!!" there is also the 24 year old girl inside of me jumping just as high screaming "we did it! + it doesn't matter who likes it + who doesn't! we worked so hard for this! we are so lucky to get to wake up and do this everyday!! thank you for making this!! thank you for not giving up on yourself!!!!"
i am so happy to give you lovestrong.
we didn't give up.
the universe opened a door… we jumped inside… and did it.

Lovestrong is so strong! I have felt the same way, I understand the words, the songs is about everybody. So many people can understand it, because we have the same pain and joy.
Right now "sad song" is the story of my life. But it really helps to know I'm not alone!

OK, so I'm responding to the question in the title of this webpage and not the stuff that Christina Perri, or cp wrote on may 11, 2011. So this would include the question,"What does Lovestrong mean to you?"-->Answer := Well, as a highly educated man I am forced to answer honestly here and say, not much! But the reasons aren't because I am no fan of cp's work, the reasons deal with the word "lovestrong" itself. I, for one, have very little comprehension of this word. My understanding to this day boils down to that it is a word that CP invented to title her album which she finished writing in an earth shattering 33 days, which, if I'm allowed to say this, doesn't sound as though she spent a great deal of time contemplating it herself. So, let's face it,the inventor of the word isn't even a whole lot of help at this time with my comprehension of it. But, if I decide to break the word into two words, namely"Love"and"Strong", then I could post haste say, well I understand strong very well, it's like when a guy has lots of muscles and can lift extremely heavy weights, like if I said,"Hey! I can lift over 100 pound over my head." You might say,"Wow! That's really strong!"and I would reply,"Exactly!" The other word, however, tends to throw me for a loop. When I think of love, and sometimes I get nervous saying this, I typically think about sex! You know two people that want to sweat together while rubbing their bodies up against each other. So, if to world class body builders were have sex, I might think,"Man, that is some strong love!" or "Love is strong, isn't it?" But I probably wouldn't think the word Lovestrong, however, now I might. The other thing I think about when I think about love is Jesus Christ being nailed to a cross. This certainly doesn't bring up feelings and thoughts of strength, and usually brings up thoughts of pain and suffering, which oddly enough could be attributed to love type sacrifices. To which I might reply, "I would not want a Lovestrong!"
Today my girlfriend gave me the song "A Thousand Years" and just wow you are really good and you made a point in that song for me. I was in alot of pain and misery and I waited over 16 years of pain and misery holding on to find her. Love is so strong. Thank you for making this music. Thank you.
